The roller coaster ride finally comes to the halt! The XIMB Xpressions’13 after educating, entertaining and socializing concluded on the 10th of November with pomp. The events subsequently kept on getting better in terms of grandeur. Today they had some of the cultural events accomplished viz. ‘Thirkan’, which is a group dance competition, ‘Duet Dance’ (Yugal Nrutya) and ‘15 minutes to fame’. But the event that apparently made everyone hypnotized was ‘Celeblitz’. And believe me; this year’s Celeblitz was beyond expectations!
The temperature started rising well before the event when people from every nook started conglomerating at the XIMB gate in order to establish them prior to the concert. And who would not when the star about to perform was ‘The’ Arijit Singh himself. Firstly after the VIPs were allowed to enter, they were strictly asked by the police security personnel not to leave the campus, if done shall not be entertained thereafter. Boys and girls, old and the young everyone went absolutely frenzy after the rock star entered the campus. Eventually, when the concert started after some hotch-potch, the whole situation normalized. There were thousands of people who were not allowed to enter once after the star unleashed his brilliance. Even the XIMB organizing committee members were seen helplessly wandering outside the gate. As far the unofficial reports go, this years’ Celeblitz saw more than 10,000 people which is a record. And once Arijit stared ‘’Apne karam ki…..” the kind of cheer he got still echoes in my ears!
To add flavor there food stalls from “Yummies” and KFC for people to have snacks, pizzas and ‘finger licking chicken’. So biding adieu to Xpressions’13 was an emotional moment and the brilliance and standards that this year’s edition has established can only be broken by Xpressions’14. With optimism in air we hope for the best!
