Indian 4×100 women’s relay team on Monday set a new National Record by clocking 43.42 sec during the Kazakhstan National Athletics Championship. Interestingly the relay team comprising Dutee Chand, Srabani Nanda, HM Jyothi and Merlin Joseph, bettered their own National Record, which they created during the IAAF World Challenge in Beijing in May.
The 4x100m relay quartet’s earlier best was 44.03 seconds.
They bagged the silver medal at the Almaty meet after starting off the blocks through Joseph, who was followed by Jyothi and Nanda respectively with Dutee anchoring the finale leg. Hosts Kazakhstan took the top honours, with a timing of 42.92 sec.
Odisha’s duo Srabani and Dutee seem unstoppable before Rio Olympics! Cheer’s to the awesome win. You go, girls!
