Old man Elvis was completely paralyzed and unable to lift his head and body, a part of his body covered with wounds due to maggots infestation. Mithi was run over by a bike and lost blood profusely through her nose and mouth. Rescued in dire and hopeless situations, they are both at the verge of recovery.
Elvis, Billa, Mithi are few of the many survivors who have now found a safe refute in a shelter home set up by PFA, Ekamra.
People for animals is the largest animal welfare organization in India, working to bring in an animal rehabilitation shelters. Like Mahatma Gandhi said ‘the greatness of a Nation and its moral values can be judged by the way we treat our animals’. In the quest of ‘Digital India’ and ‘smart cities’ let’s not forget to be compassionate and also strive to be a ‘Kind city’.
