Odisha is reeling under a sweltering heat wave! With mercury on the rise, we suggest taking a trip to one of the few offbeat beaches in a state which is not so known for its beach destinations specially in International and National tourism forums. We are blessed with a beautiful coast line and it’s time we get mesmerized by its surreal beauty.
Here’s our pick for top 5 beaches you need to drive right away!

The Olive Ridleys call this one their home! It’s of primary importance as the ‘nesting beach’ for the Olive Ridley Sea Turtles. It is also the only marine wildlife sanctuary of Odisha. How often have you come across a beach that recedes 5 km daily during low tide. Talk about being ‘laid-back’. Lined with casuarinas trees and filled with white sand dunes – the sight leaves you mesmerized.
‘Time and tide wait for none’. This holds true for Chandipur where the timings of the tide depend upon the position of moon.
