We know it’s a bit late, but hey, if you haven’t already seen the movie, here are 5 reasons why you should definitely check it out. And if you have, all the more reasons to watch it again.

It’s a hatke movie

Yes this movie deals with a subject which is stigmatic. We don’t like to talk about it. But this very fact makes us curious what this whole deal is about. The serious and stigmatic issue of sperm donation has been blended into a fun and enjoyable tale which engrosses you from the very beginning. Alas we get a break from remakes or films revolving around like terrorism, extra-marital affairs etc.

Paisa Wasool Comedy

You might have decided against this movie because of the title, but trust me it a really enjoyable comedy.  It’s much better than a no-brainer comedy that expects you to laugh when some guy gets bitten in his private parts by animals or uses forwarded pj’s as punch lines. But if you are looking for stars, check out the next point.

Ayushmann khuarana and Yaami Gautam

This movie doesn’t have the big names but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t  score on the glamour quotient. For all you girls out there, Ayushmann Khurana charms his way with his dashing looks + the dimple. The punjabi accent with the delhi guy-attitude-cute smile comes naturally to him and after a certain time, u really think of him as Vicky. And for the guys, Yaami Gautam takes care of it all. She looks elegant as the independent bengali woman in a saree. And if you thought you have seen her somewhere before, yes she is our very own ‘fair and lovely girl’.

It’s a movie you can relate to.

Actually, It’s a movie to which a lot of people can relate to. There is the unemployed graduate who parties late and also wakes up late only when his mom scolds him about doing nothing. The guy who wants respect and to make a name for himself and not join some family business. There are the jealous neighbours, the over inquisitive relatives, the girl in the colony with whom you had a fling, cricket, drunk dadi and so on. Also there is the inter-cultural marriage where you get to see what happens when two opposites attract. The opinion of sophisticated, minimalistic, fish loving bengalis of the energetic, fun-loving, happy-go-lucky, butter chicken punjabis and vice versa. The fun, dancing, enjoying, drinking, photographs, wishes, relatives during a marriage.  And all of it happens in India.

Some power packed performances

The writer, Juhi Chaturvedi is an amazing debutant. The writing of the film is so smooth and exceptional that you already want to vote her for the best scriptwriter award for this year. Directed by Shoojit Sircar,  who also gave us Yahaan, is at his best. Biji played by Kamlesh Gill has some of the best one liners in the entire movie. Momma Dolly does such a convincing job that you would never know that she is the real life Dolly Alhuwalia who is the costume designer for movies like Water, Midnight’s Children and Omkara. Then there is the amazing chemistry between Aysushmann Khurana and Yammi Gautam. Last but not the least and most importantly, Anu Kapoor. He is the backbone of the entire plot. Be it the desperate doctor, the stalker or the understanding man who arranges a big event just to set everything right in Vicky’s life. He has really justified his character when he was chosen over people like Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher or Pankaj Kapoor. All in all, it just sums up to be one complete blockbuster package.

Bonus Tip : For the song Pani Da Rang

If you haven’t already heard the song, go listen to it. The song composed, sung and to a certain extent the guitars played by Ayushmann Khurana himself is just so serene that words fall short to describe it here. Do yourself a favor, listen to it and I bet it will get to your most played list very soon.

We have a complaint though : Vicky Donor was allotted just one show in Keshari Talkies while Hate Story had 3 shows.Does it just re-affirm the much clichéd line “jo dikhta hai woh bikta hai” ?
