You are not likely to be unique amongst your friends if almost everyone stacks up the wardrobe from the collections of the same mall and the same section, because many girls have the similar shirts, the similar skirts and the similar denims. To make yourself stand out, accessorize your clothes, and accessorize them to make them look different from other girls.
Budget so that you can add trendy pieces to your wardrobe:
Well…most of us turn bankrupt and fall short of the pocket-money we get by the first week of the month itself. Whoever said that having something branded to wear can make you look unique must have had a big fat cheque written by his/her Dad. Even a cute bracelet bought from the pavements of our very own Unit-1 market building can make you look cool and glamorous.
Purchase well fitting versatile garments:
Clothes should be fit and not excessively baggy and tight so that the layers of the fat instead of your curves exhibit themselves. Before you buy something, make sure that it goes with at LEAST two items in your wardrobe. Oh please…! Don’t even think of buying something which doesn’t compliment your skin tone. You won’t prefer yourself looking like the vamps of the K soaps, would you..?
With a flexible wardrobe, it becomes really important to make sure you know which colours blend well on you. You can experiment by clicking yourself wearing multiple outfit choices, making sure to mix and match. This way you can see what looks good on you and what makes you look weird!
Layer your shirts:
It’s cool to wear a V-neck and a tank under, but don’t go too crazy that you end up wearing 5 shirts. Beware…several layers can add bulk.
Have a cute belt and earrings in your collection. Don’t overdo it. Usually one key accessory is enough with other additions to do the supporting roles.
Pay attention to your mane:
Have a versatile cut that allows multiple styles.
Strap it on:
Shoes can make the same outfit look different in conjunction with your accessories. Maximize your shoe wardrobe whenever you can. Don’t be afraid to go with bold colours to spice up an outfit. But, make sure you have a few pairs of neutral coloured ones as well.
Be confident-don’t slouch:
The key to be fashionable and carving a niche in the crowd is to “carry yourself”. Looking confident makes any outfit look good. If you still feel insecure, take a look in the mirror and realise, “Dang! I look amazing”. Grab your purse and have fun.
