Since most of you must be having a Kritansh 2012 hangover, We thought why not divulge some “dope” about the college. Let us start with the “main”  khatti(hangout) spots in KIIT School of Engineering.

D-Block Lawn:

It’s a stretch of lush green grass and full wi-fi connectivity, ideal place for full-on gossip and various games and sports, over looking an open-air theatre.  PDA happening all over, this is a perfect place for spending a lazy evening.

Manu’s Canteen:

Best food service within the campus. Minutes away from almost all departments  and an ideal place for friends to hang out and celebrate birthdays etc.  If you bunk a class, this is where you go.

Thela-wala/ Bangali Bhaina:

Best rolls, noodles, mughlai and biryani. Absolutely mouth-watering and unbelievably pocket-friendly. We love the bhaina or DADA rather. Located behind KP-2, it’s an easy access for all and the sundry.

Aatmaram:

Everyone in KIIT knows Atmaram. This is basically for the boys. Place to smoke, have tea/awesome coffee and basic snacks. Great de-stresser.  Best place to complaint about teachers and syllabus; and plan mass-bunks. Great place to chill and learn to live the “cool” way. Not to forget the numerous recharge shops alongside.

Share-a-Cup:

Even if the CCD in the campus doesn’t open the KIITians don’t complain. Perhaps, Share-A-Cup is the only reason why! Declared to be the best place for Post Exam Parties, it has often been termed as a pseudo-CCD! But then the main-course full-time lunch-dinner varieties probably give them a “+1”. One of those places where “Love Happens” and if it didn’t go that well, you are always allowed to take a puff outside on the stairs.

Chaat Street:

Nobody thought the stalls outside Big Bazaar could attract all the students from KIIT! Yes, the Chaat Street is the place to be when you want a four course meal with your girlfriend- Golguppa Chaat, Munchurians, Cheese Egg Rolls and Delicious Jalebis. If you’re a part of the Koel Campus or if you’re just waiting for the bus to take you home, you can never ignore the aura of the street.

Monginis:

This one doesn’t need much words. Healthier rolls, burgers and cutlets. Various chocolate delicacies to choose from. Vast option for cakes and pastries and quick and easy delivery for birthdays and other events. This one is new but I don’t know how we survived before.

BMC:

Maggi and tea at 5 am in the morning? What else do we need on the day right before our exam?  Ideal for all college toppers  and of course, for all the rest of us  too. One of the best places to bitch about College.

Central Library Chowk:

This is the latest addition to the many hotspots for the collegiates. We call it the Open Aquarium! Best NSP (Nayan Sukh Prapti) spot for the poor engineering lads. This place is always full of people-24×7, just like the Library.
Specially during the evening, the lights and water fountains make the ambience majestic. Some of the best decisions here is to walk the foot-track. For obvious reasons.
