How is it like to cruise on the highway on your beloved two-wheeler, applying brakes at the last moment to take that corner, checking your rear mirror for approaching vehicles, leaning as much as you can, each time more than the last time?
If the above words make any sense to you and there is a constant urge to hit the roads to feel “it” once again, then you hail from a breed of humans who share an unconditional love for revving engines – The Bikers. Welcome to a fraternity that gets a bystander surprised with awe and even makes that guy behind the wheels of a posh car go green. Make way for the Bhubaneswar Super Bikers Club.
The club comprises of people from the city, mostly businessmen.Between office and crazy work schedule they are and united by a common passion for bikes. Come Sunday, all of them don their leather jackets and carbon fibers for a ride on their beloved bikes. The ride is more like a ritual. The riders start every Sunday from XIM-B (near Fortune Towers). The convoy of around a dozen motorcycles moves towards Vishakhapatnam on the National Highway 5. Milestones, dangerous bends and places with scenic views on the way become pit stops till they reach Balugaon and this is where they turn back home to Bhubaneswar.
The club was started by a couple of friends: Rana Singh, Jeet Singh, Altaf Ali, Jeetu Mohapatra and Kulia Pattnaik in Mid-2010 as they wanted to unleash the monsters waiting in their garage. They pooled their resources, in this case bikes & riding gear and started a journey of fulfillment. Along with time, a few more like-minded people joined in.
The club boasts of a wide variety of bikes from the laid back cruiser Harleys to the colossal Yamaha V-MAX to the highway tearing R1s. It even has the monstrous Honda Goldwing and not to forget the smallest member of their family a Honda CBR250R. There’s also a Suzuki Intruder & BMW R1200GS (You can take a world tour on this vehicle).
