It’s not everyday that you see history being made infront of your eyes.
555 Odissi dancers (to be precise) danced their way to record books in Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. The overall feat lasted for almost 30 minutes.

The Officials from the Guinness Book of World Records are yet to recogonise the feat officially. They would be confirming it within a few days.

The dance was the inauguration of International Odissi Festival which will be held from December 23rd-December 30th 2011. The festival is organised by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre, US based Indian Performing Art Promotion (IPAP) and Odisha government’s Tourism and Culture department.

Clad in the typical yet elegant Sambalpuri attire, they swayed to the music piece in perfect synchronization. We definitely feel lucky to have witnessed a feat which was no less than a miracle.
