Done with all the hard-work and the nonstop nagging of your feeders to land
somewhere after intermediates? And even a safe attempt of landing on a decent
engineering college setting new course?? Well, not actually sure of where the
term “studies” now fits the priority list but after all that ‘panic’, fun and frolic
definitely grabs the higher one. Nodding head?? Of course! Let’s have a visit. Relax!
we won’t begin with departments, labs or the library or anything else that would
make you yawn before you could actually grab the words-“Welcome to ITER”.

THE HANGOUTS

Just name the spot and people are there. ITER has got a number of hangouts to
spend the half days, bunks or before/after class time..

KHATTI SPOT ONE

The college canteen tops the preference.

Spacious and naturally ventilated; it’s a big hall with numerous fans
and windows to keep it airy, lighted and peep-able. Its one table and four chairs
setup helps the hungry to enjoy their lunch, dinner, snacks or tea sips while glancing
at random daily-soaps from a corner with a dish TV connection. The only problem
here is the crowd and when they cross the danger limit. Drop here during lunch hour
and you really need your brightest astrological stars to grab a chair and if you are
asking for tables; forget it!!

KHATTI SPOT TWO

Birthday bashes?? Monginis gets you the piece of cake.

Placed right in-front of the library and beside the boys hostel (previously girls hostel)
it’s the prominent place for celebrations and is always crowded after college hours.
Other than Monginis stuff, it also supplies college uniforms and formal shoes for
both boys and girls!! Now, that’s the cherry on top!

KHATTI SPOT THREE

If you need an evening stroll; march straight towards the lawn beside the N block.
This area is flooded with couples who feel like home “below” the small greeneries
along the perimeter. The footpath bounding this area is dominated by groups of guys
and their revving bikes for the STD (Sundar Toki Darshan); the BEAUTY-FULL-VIEW!!
Well, any corner of the campus can be a hangout and so can be the corridors! Been
kicked out or bunking or waiting or simply wanted to be there, its paradise!!

KHATTI SPOT FOUR

The footpath beside Admin Block and Data Block are excellent Wi-Fi spots; so don’t
forget your laptops. Rest of the places have excellent GPRS connectivity. And there’s
a basketball court adjacent to the girls hostel; hangout and hit on simultaneously!
If by any chance you have accidently breached the boundaries; you can smoke up
some “sutta” at the Omfed shop or may try out the menu at the food joints -Le
Sansy, Green Park or Food Court, all in close proximity.

KHATTI SPOT FIVE

The library is not only for geeks. Some find it as a good place; away from sun, to sit,to gossip or cellphone chats. Beware! Now there are CCTV installations monitoring every nook and corner of the hall and reading room. If caught, you might end up without your id- card or with an undertaking. If it’s worse, you might be banned from issuing books. It all depends on the offences (if you are caught)!
