ANJALI is a thought – a thought for an inclusive world for ‘otherwise able’ children.
Project Anjali commenced in 2001 to showcase the talent and creativity of children with special needs to the society. Students from mainstream schools were invited to visit the camp. 2002 became a milestone with enthusiastic response from mainstream students to be part of the three days camp. Our workshops became ourexperimental classrooms for creating a inclusive society. From 2003 we had requests from states from outside of Orissa to participate. The number of camp days was increased to five and we also started experimenting with joyful learning. In 2004 Project Anjali became ANJALI NATIONAL CHILDREN FESTIVAL, the only one in India.
The main objective of Anjali is ‘TO RESTORE FUNFILLED CHILDHOOD AND TO CREATE BRIDGES FOR AN INCLUSIVE SOCIETY’
